Length of Training
This training can be conducted in a high school, medical or long-term facility or at a community college. The nurse’s aide programs can be 2 to 15 weeks in length

Licensure/Certification
Successful completion of an approved program in nursing assisting prepares the student to take the Texas Nurses Aide Registry skills and written exam, a certification exam. To work in a licensed nursing home in Texas, a nurse’s aide is required to have this certification. Most hospitals and other facilities also require certification. In addition, the patient care assistant is eligible for certification as a home health aide with additional training in home health care.
